Personality:
Hatcher is quite timid, although he's recently been able to open up more as well as focus on his own needs and wants. Often self-conscious, he blushes easily and has a difficult time taking compliments. He is, however, a hopeless romantic, and really just wants someone to love him for who he is, even if he has trouble accepting that someone may be able to do so.
Biography:
After extensive encouragement from his older stepsister Cassia, Hatcher moved to Barsheth when he was 18, finally ridding himself of the influence of a verbally abusive father, selfish stepmother, and overly controlling boyfriend.
Barsheth was a much larger city than Hatcher was used to, and before long he found himself falling for a charming, handsome, worldly, older man by the name of Mi'kael. Cassia was immediately wary of this new interest, since he seemed somehow capable of blocking her power of cognition: the ability to pick up significant memories or events of a person's past. She also had a strong feeling her little stepbrother was being taken advantage of, and consistently warned Hatcher of her misgivings.
As it turned out, Mi'kael did break poor Hatcher's fragile heart. When Theo arrived out of nowhere, seemingly back from the dead, Mi'kael dumped the (much) younger man without a second thought. The Consort admits he could have used a bit more tact.
Hatcher spent a long summer month feeling depressed. The company of his step-nephew helped ease him back into the routine of daily life, finding a new job as a page at the Barsheth Public Library. The Library is where he met Hope.
